I began working with the firm in 2009 while working toward a formal degree in paralegal studies. Because our firm is organized on a team-based model, we work collaboratively on each client matter. This means that if a client calls with a question I am usually able to answer it immediately because I am working closely with the lawyers or CPA on the matter or, if it concerns a matter that I am not directly working on, I can get an answer for the client very quickly. I like being able to be responsive to our clients in a timely fashion, to keep on top of their legal issues, and to help them get those issues resolved.
Although I work on an array of estate planning and litigation issues, most of my work is focused on estate and trust administrative matters. Often estate/trust administration involves understanding complex estate planning documents, collecting and organizing financial information, navigating various court-imposed or IRS rules, and seeing to the proper transfer of property to heirs. I enjoy helping clients handle these business aspects of the administrative process. This, in turn, enables our clients to focus on their emotional needs, and those of their family, caused by the death of a loved one. We try to offer clients a “safe-harbor” while they deal with these difficult transitions.
I was born in Landstuhl, Germany in 1983. I received an Associates of Applied Science degree in paralegal studies, magna cum laude, from Anne Arundel Community College in 2010 and I am continuing my education in accounting.
