Originally in early 2020, I was brought in by the firm to migrate the data from its existing practice management software to a new system. Later in the Fall of 2020, once the dust from Covid began to settle, the firm reached out again and offered me a permanent administrative position. In my current position, I manage the front office side of the firm.
Usually, I am the first point of contact for potential clients either by responding to telephone inquiries or email/website contacts. I strive to provide a professional and compassionate first contact to our clients. Contacting an attorney, whether to draw up a Will, to execute an estate plan at the death of a dearly loved family member, or exploring possible litigation, can be a daunting prospect. My goal is to help our clients in the best way that fits their needs, while providing space for the attorneys to complete their work in a timely manner. As COVID is subsiding, we are moving to a more hybrid business model where we will meet in-person once again or remotely depending on client preference.
Another one of my tasks is closely related to that of my initial work with the firm. Franke Beckett LLC is very process oriented – using systems so that its lawyers and paralegals can stay focused on serving clients. Part of my job is to manage the numerous documents coming to the office daily so that each document ends up with the appropriate person.
I moved to Annapolis with my husband in February of 2019 when he was stationed here with the U.S. Air Force. Before coming to Maryland, I worked for a variety of professional offices in my hometown in Nebraska as an administrative assistant and event coordinator. I have also dabbled in several other professions, including culinary arts, advertising, and even a few entrepreneurial ventures. Each of these experiences help me to be flexible when dealing with the variety associated with the front office position.
