Biography
I began working with the firm in early January of 2022, when I moved back to the Annapolis area after living in Illinois for 3 years, where I worked as an Immigration paralegal at a small firm. At Franke Beckett, I am one of the estate/trust administration paralegals.
Shifting from assisting clients in an immigration law practice to helping clients in the administration of an estate or trust required learning the substantive aspects of a new practice area. The core approach, however, remained the same. In the prior firm, I learned the importance of working within a strong team dynamic. I also had the privilege to work closely with clients: hearing their stories, where they came from, and where they hoped to go. Each client deserved to be heard, properly taken care of, and respected. Those key attributes are shared by Franke Beckett. We operate as a team that puts the client first. This approach is what drew me to the practice.
At Franke Beckett, I see the same drive to serve each client with integrity, respect and compassion, while offering sound legal advice and assistance during what can be an overwhelming process after the death of a loved one.
I come from a background that one may not see as necessarily pointing to working in the legal field but which has undoubtedly contributed to the strengths that now assist me in my current position. I completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in theology at a small liberal arts college in the Shenandoah Valley in 2013. I have a strong, long-standing passion for serving others. After graduating from college, I worked in a school and went on to do a year of volunteer service in the U.S. Eventually, I worked at the Immigration law firm in Illinois where I discovered that my previous experiences had prepared me in unexpected ways to flourish in the legal field. I am grateful for the opportunity to continue using and growing my skills to serve individuals and their families as one of Franke Beckett’s paralegals.
